The easiest method for us to receive donations is via bank transfer to the following account:

Individual UK taxpayers may increase their donations by 25% with no cost to themselves by the filling in our online Gift Aid form.

Latest update (2nd January 2026):

We have now shut after a very successful Christmas period, and handed the keys back to Swindon Night Shelter.

 

We'd like to extend a massive thank you to everyone who made this work again this year.  We really couldn't do it without you.  From the volunteers who gave their time selflessly, to the donors who provided food, drinks, and monetary donations, you've all made a massive difference.

 

Across six days, we welcomed approximately 50 guests per day, helping to feed them, keep them warm and safe, and bring some Christmas joy at what can be a very difficult time of year.

On behalf of the Christmas Care Trust and Committee, we would also like to share that the feedback from our guests has been overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing their sincere thanks to everyone involved in making this happen.

​

We are now taking a well-deserved break and will begin preparations for 2026 later in the year, implementing improvement ideas from both guests and volunteers.

Christmas Care is a Swindon charity that has provided hospitality for homeless and vulnerable local people every Christmas since 1988. We are based in The Haven Day Centre, Queen's Drive, Swindon SN3 1AR.

​

We provide a drop-in day centre for homeless and isolated people in the Swindon area over the Christmas period.  It is run entirely by volunteers and a small committee, and is funded purely from donations, both cash and donations in kind.

​

  • We offer a full English breakfast, a hot home-cooked lunch and an early evening snack.  In between, there are hot drinks, chats, companionship and festive cheer. 

  • Guests do not need to book in advance. 

  • For insurance reasons, we are unable to accommodate anyone under 18 years old, guest or volunteer. 

  • The dates we open are from Christmas Eve for a week (exact dates are determined each year).  

  • Our opening times for guests are 9:00am - 5:30pm each day, other than the last day when when we close at 3:00pm.​​
