Latest update (31 Dec):
Christmas Care is now closed for this year and it was such a success! We had an average of 25 guests each day: breakfast, lunch and supper served daily and over 900 hot drinks made.
Thank you so much to everyone who donated, volunteered, gave their time, liked our posts and helped in any way. We, and our guests, are so grateful - thank you, thank you, thank you!
Happy New Year to you all.
Christmas Care is a Swindon temporary shelter charity that has operated every Christmas since 1988. It provides hot home-cooked food, personal care and festive cheer for homeless, isolated and vulnerable people in the Swindon area over the Christmas period.
It is run entirely by volunteers and a small committee, and is funded purely from donations, both cash and donations in kind.
Christmas Care 2021
Christmas Care 2021 ran in The Haven Day Centre, Queen's Drive, Swindon SN3 1AR. We operated from 24th - 30th December, 9am - 9pm each day, in three volunteer shifts of four hours each. The opening hours for guests were 9:30am - 8:30pm.
Like last year, we were unable to offer overnight facilities for guests for Covid-security reasons.
